How to hire a car in UK
Requirements:

• The person hiring the car should be of 21 years of age. This rule is applicable in many countries. However, the age requirement may vary according to the country and to the vehicle category considered. A Young Driver Surcharge may be applicable in some instances.
• The person should have a driving licence, issued by his/her country of residence.
• A valid Credit card is also required.( Some demand a second credit card  while going for a luxury vehicleA passport document for Identification.

Rental charges:

Obtain an online quotation from the company before reaching the company premises for hiring. Carefully read the quotation received from the company. You have to understand what is included in the price quoted. Ensure that the following points are included in the insurance cover:

• Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)
• Theft protection (TP)
• Supplementary Liability Insurance (SLI)
• Local Tax (TAX)
• Premium Location Surcharge

Some customers , who have other insurance policies and do not want to include any of the above clauses  may ask for a modified quotation.

Payment mode
You may have to pay the deposit amount in advance by cheque or cash. You may also have to provide an additional reference –recent utility bill dated less than 3 months. Points to check

Extension of rental period:

Returning of the  Vehicle:
You have to return the car with the same level of fuel as was  during  pick-up. If you return the car with less fuel the company may charge a refuelling service charge-higher rate than in service stations. Normally the company may not give any credit  if there is excess fuel in the tank. Hence it is always better to refill the tank to the required level just before return.

Return Time
Ensure that the vehicle is returned with in  the grace period as mentioned in the contract.
